What are the most important employee benefits?

We asked for feedback via a survey, asking respondents to choose their Top 5 most important benefits and these were the options that polled most strongly.

Do you agree?

Previous big draws such as a company cars gained less than 25% of votes, and travel/season tickets was even lower at 10%. Employee discount schemes rated only just over 12%, although life assurance and the option to buy or sell annual leave polled more strongly at over 30% each.

  • Flexibility over how you manage your working hours – 75%

  • Enhanced pension contributions – 55%

  • Private medical insurance – 53%

  • Bonus payment opportunity – 35%

And the rest of benefits polled as:

  • Life assurance – 33%

  • Buy / Sell annual leave – 30%

  • Company car / car allowance – 25%

  • Part time hours – 23%

  • Dedicated budget for professional development – 23%

  • Dedicated budget for personal wellbeing – 13%

  • Employee discount schemes – 13%

  • Travel / season ticket loans or funding – 10%

  • Enhanced maternity / paternity / adoption leave – 8%
